Autumn shopping to most Irish women is what rugby is to men right now – exciting, enticing and absolutely essential!
With any new season comes new resolutions for your style and a somewhat fresh start as you resolve to buy better, style smarter and embrace your inner Olivia (Palermo).
It is that time of year we really love to embrace. Layering up, looking cosy and piling up our skinny jeans and jumpers like the ice caps are melting in our back gardens. This of course gives us great comfort, pleasure and relief as the fake tan marathons also recede!
Like any season the core of your wardrobe for Autumn should be good basics. I have been keeping a close eye on what the shops have been bringing in and where the best buys are to be found. Here are my tops tips and most beautiful buys to get you started!
1. Get a handle on your wardrobe basics before you shop.
Some of my wardrobe essentials this year include a great pair of black skinny jeans, a pair of blue high waisted boyfriend jeans (Topshop everytime), a black or tan leather skirt, a statement coat, a long sleeveless gilet, good quality polo necks, a denim shirt, blanket scarf, black suede boots (ankle or knee length or preferably both!). What have you got and what do you need? Here are some of my favourites this week.

2. Think creatively.
Look for those things that catch your eye, make you smile and will work hard alongside other pieces in your wardrobe. You should aim to be able to create at least 2 looks with everything you buy.

3. Colour your look.
Have some fun with the colours and textures your choose. Autumn is your chance to mix things up as you layer. Colours should compliment but not match. Think deep plum with teal, orange with royal blue and bright yellow with fuchsia pink.
