Fashion Designer, Lya Unveils New Pre Autumn Collection
Lya Solis, a Russian born womenswear fashion designer living and working in Dublin is highly acclaimed for her work. Lya graduated in Moscow in 1999 with a Degree in Art. She went on to develop her passion for luxury womenswear with further studies in the Grafton Academy in Dublin before she went on to be a fashion designer.
Lya is known and loved for her feminine approach to design and tailoring. Her focus (which fascinates me) is on creating clothes that make women feel confident and embrace their body shape all the while focusing on their femininity. I recently got to see some of Lya’s current (pre autumn/ winter) collection (which you can see in Lya’s design studio and shop in Powerscourt Towncentre in Dublin) and I loved it all. In the collection Lya uses the most beautiful fabrics such as cashmere, beaded lace, python and leather, all of which she has sourced from Italy, France, Japan and USA.
Combining beautiful textures with timeless tailoring, the fashion designer has taken her inspiration from the beauty of the Irish landscape and features three staple stories which I loved
The daywear collection from Lya Solis is a palette of blush soft pinks and dreamy blues inspired by the changing colours of the Irish sky, from eerie pinks, to clouded blues and deeper midnight hues.
Look out for a beautiful contrast of textures; using leathers, wools, furs, hand-beaded embellishments and sheer mesh to showcase the Lya Solis woman as strong, independent and a true fashion lover! This navy blue dress is just amazing and definitely my favourite from the collection.
The evening collection from Lya offers a vast array of styles from heavily handmade lace to subtly beaded bridal and intricate pretty pearls but all in a soft palette of nudes and creamy whites. Embellishment is a key part of what makes Lya’s collections stand out at any event with each piece meticulously hand made.
Definitely an investment for a very special occasion, prices start at €499. Lya is one Irish designer we definitely need to keep track of! For more information visit www.lyasolis.com or follow Lya on twitter @LyaSolis.
