Helen McAlinden’s Autumn Collection is Unveiled
Irish Designer Helen McAlinden unveiled her Autumn Winter collection yesterday in the beautiful Irish Georgin Society on South William Street and it was beautiful.
Blush and soft pinks dominated the start of the show and gave a lovely twist to the heritage trend which will be big news on the high street this season.
One of the elements I always love about weaving my way in and out through Helen’s collections is the ‘surprise’ element she always produces. Known for her love of classic tailoring, soft neutrals and fine fabrics the collection as always features some exquisite drama and punch. For me this can be seen in the rich metallic fabrics, the surprise modern belt detailing, brocade bell skirts and the one on my wish list; a pair of leather skinny trousers (at a great price point €135).
If you are looking for the perfect Winter coat there is lots of choose from including rich creams and tans, vibrant orange, deep petrol blue and classic black.
Her best selling wrap dress is back this season (€185) in two prints and alongside them we saw some gorgeous soft cashmere knits and high waisted wide leg trousers. Finally, Irish tweed (which Helen is a big fan of) featured in bold plaid and oatmeal jackets teamed with beautiful trilby hats.
Are you a Helen customer?
The Helen McAlinden customer for me is the lady who wants an effortless wardrobe, full of classic beauties but more and more we are seeing she also likes a modern and unexpected twist to the clothes she wears. If you fall more into the latter over the former you must must must see Helen’s tan and black over the knee suede boots which simply are to die for and tick this ‘trend’ box with an elegance only Helen can manage!
Happy shopping & styling!
