Just as I am about to go buy a new pair of summer wedges, this lands in my inbox! Jaeger have unveiled their Autumn Winter collection. Their classic colours – camel, ivory, scarlet, navy, black and grey – are back but this time highlighted with on–trend emerald green and cobalt blue. Checks play a leading role this season with a covetable Prince of Wales coat, knitted cowl neck sweater and collarless jacket taking centre stage.
Luxe lambskin trims update the timeless pea coat whilst wrap skirts in herringbone and leather make directional work wear alternatives. Slick pinstripe tailoring nods to autumn’s masculine mood, cut with authority yet worn with a relaxed attitude. Dresses make for wearable statements with big cat prints prowling over silk pieces and structured shifts painted in bold colours. And as the nights draw in, jewels and lace lend evening looks a smouldering allure. I always find Jaeger a bit pricey but when you put on a piece you just know it will stand the test of time (and washing) so maybe next season I should really follow my own advice, less clothes but much better clothes.
