The Idea is simple, you want a designer dress for an occasion but don’t want to fork out for it? Frock and fabulous do the forking so all you have to to is the looking fabulous by renting one of their designer gems. They stock a range of high end designers such as Jenny Packham, Marchesa (one of my favourites), Valentino, Temperely and many more. I have come across lots of such ideas both on and offline recently (it is a massive concept in the UK and the States) and I must say I am a big fan. Not just from a cash point of view but when it comes to designer wares, especially dresswear, who wants to wear the same guna twice? I want to sample as many as I can! Frock and Fabulous officially opened its doors this week and is located very conveniently (for those of you who like me are Luas regulars) at the Dundrum stop – right beside the track (literally).
The launch was attended by Irish designers Sara O’Neill and Jennifer Rothwell aswell as Lisa Cannon and Audrey McGrath from Xpose and Irish Milliners Aisling Ahern and Fiona Mangan.
Opening times are Thursday and Friday’s between 9.30am – 9pm and on Saturday’s between 10pm and 5pm. Kara, the lovely lady who owns Frock and Fabulous will also arrange private appointments for clients so just get in touch through the website. For those of you on the look out for more shops like this check out Covet in Powerscourt Town House and Girl Meets Dress, which is a UK based site that do everything through their website.
