The Style Fish Story
Once upon a time…
…A girl called Julie had a dream to make a difference to how women felt about their style by providing practical & fun classes & consultations. Stylefish was set up in March 2009 to do just that. Having completed a Commerce Degree majoring in Law but feeling very uninspired at the thought of working in the legal world, Julie started her journey towards creating a brand that three years later Inspire’s not just women’s wardrobes but small businesses everywhere to take that leap of faith to follow your dream!
Julie gave up her job & moved to London in 2008 to unleash her creative side; working as a Wedding Coordinator. It was here she discovered her true love of working within the fashion & events Industry. Following this Julie worked with The Australia Day Events Council in Sydney. She also has experience in online strategy & management working as Commercial Manager for Simplyweddings.com. In addition & within the media arena, Julie has worked as Advertising Manager with Johnston Press Newspaper Group. But her true passion came to the fore when she worked as a secondary school teacher in Dublin. Stylefish was set up to combine her love of teaching with her love of fashion.
In March 2011 Stylefish featured on RTE’s Dragon’s Den and secured investment from Norah Casey (Harmonia Publishing) and Gavin Duffy (Mediatraining.ie) (having turned down Sean Gallagher). Style Fish is growing proof that with a real belief in & love of what you do, others see it too. Julie is a columnist with Woman’s Way & fashion expert delivering onstage classes at Woman’s Way Live & The Ultimate Girls Day Out among other events.
For Julie, Stylefish has always been bigger than her. It is not even about her. Julie will never be able to spread all the love Stylefish has to give and knows there is a huge amount of women out there who would love to be able to help her do this by owning their own Stylefish business with gives them the flexibility & support to run Stylefish classes & consultations around the Country. Stylefish is currently gearing up to launch their first teacher training course in September. Stylefish is also involved in training within the retail sector & has just launched the Stylefish Personal Shopping service in Clerys Department Store in Dublin to ensure Stylefish Instore stylists are accessible to women to help make their shopping experience a lot easier & more fun!
