There is something immensely satisfying and comforting about digging out our cosy jumpers at this time of year. Especially this year as we actually had a summer! We are done with bare legs and summer fabrics, its is time to think cosy and the high street is far from bland when it comes to choice! Here is my catwalk inspiration from Roberto Cavalli and Jaimee McKenna.
So, which knit is for you?
Tapestry Print Jumpers with a heavy embossed feel with gold’s and silvers take all the effort out of having to layer as they have such a luxurious feel. My favourite is from Marks and Spencer’s Limited Edition £39.50.
Cable knit The ultimate in cosy comfort this autumn. Choose your size carefully as chunky knits can make you look bigger. Team with a waist cinching skirt or fitted pair of denim. My pick is this grey cable knit with embellished detail from Penney’s for just €18.
High shine metallic’s. Not for the faint hearted this style shone through (quite literally) on so many of our street style stars. Team with a leather jacket, torn denims and studded ankle boots to play on the grunge trend that’s big new for autumn. My choice is this bronze metallic finish knit from Wallis £35.
Leopard Print. Not just in our usual combination of browns and creams but look out for pastel colours, reds and greens. I personally love this style as it is a quirky take on a mainstay print. This red and black option from Country Casuals at £65 is my winner.
Love hearts. Love is in the air this season with lots of high street windows showing love heart jumpers! From Awear to Oasis to H&M, take your pick. My favourite is this love heart jumper from Awear at €40.
Some of my other favourites that I have seen on the high street are below. For best selection Marks and Spencers is my overall winner (especially in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre).
