Our Personal Styling Diploma is thought by Julie Cobbe who has set up and run her own Personal Styling business and fashion school for 10 years this year! She has worked with so many fashion and corporate brands on events, training and styling. This is your opportunity to get insider insight into the styling world and develop your skills as a personal stylist whatever career path you decide to take. This course give you access all areas and Julie openly shares all the good and the bad of working in this exciting industry.
Practical, hands on training
There is no better way to learn than on the shop floor with real women and this is what this course gives you. Practical, hands on, fun and creative styling sessions at the end of each module of training so you can put into practice what you have learnt. We take a trip to the personal shopping suite in Marks & Spencers (usually), meet their personal shopper and we will have a client for you all to style and have fun with. This is the part of the course that students get the most from and that really makes things ‘click’ in terms of learning. You’re one to one assignments are also a big part of this learning. As soon as you register, you will also get invited to be part of Julie’s private group page on facebook where you will students and Julie share, chat, discuss and help each other before, during and after your training has finished.
Small training groups
To ensure you can learn at your own pace in a relaxed, fun environment all our courses are restricted to a maximum of 6 ladies. One of our core goals is to make sure you feel confident about your own personal style first and foremost. Our small training groups means we get to know you and can help you get there too! In all our groups, most women come by themselves and we welcome this. This journey is all about you!
Excellent training materials
Our course is jam packed full of training materials, ‘how to’ guides, sample customer consultation forms, colour swatches, online support and tutored assignments to help you succeed both during and after your training.
Geared towards the modern stylist & image consultant
We combine the best of theory learning with hands on practical assignments and time on the shop floor, styling real clients and working on briefs. Read here about one of our training sessions in House of Fraser. We believe the best learning comes from doing and building your confidence in having fun with your client will guarantee your success as a personal stylist and in your own personal styling!
Post study support for the first 6 months.
Julie is there to help you all the way through, answer your queries and ensure you have had enough time to get your head around all your fashion learning. You will complete your assignments also in this time and receive helpful feedback and knowledge to make sure you are confident and fully supported in your learning journey.
Learn at your own pace.
We know everyone learns differently. It is important you feel supported and guided through each part of your training including having one to one time with Julie as part of your assignments. We are there between each class to answer your questions and help you. We have been using WhatsApp between lessons to keep in touch and help each other.
Where we can, we invite various guest speakers in to speak to students about various topics including magazine stylists and other personal stylists. Read here about Fashion Editor, Linda Conway talking to students. You also get to spend time with a Personal Shopper while on the shop floor and learn about her day to day role, what it really looks like and what her background is.
