Kate Spade London..

Published on: July 8, 2013

Just back from a great weekend in London (go Andy!). Went for a wander around Covent Garden on Saturday afternoon in the sunshine and having heard so much about American designer Kate Spade (my flatmate came home from London recently with a beaming smile having gotten a Kate Spade wallet on sale for €40) I went to see for myself to share some cool shots with you all from the shop. Stocking everything from handbags, wallets, jewellery, clothes, shoes, bedding, tabletop accessories and gifts it is a mecca for all things girlie.

The prices are not the cheapest (handbags range from €100 – €400, jewellery from €40 – €250) but the collection is fun, colourful and a real treat. Kate was formerly an accessories editor for a fashion magazine. She created a black handbag under the name Kate Spade New York that became famous around the world in 2000. In 2007, Deborah Lloyd, Formerly Of Banana Republic And Burberry, took the helm as president and chief creative officer with an aim to broaden the line while honoring its history and it soon became a global business with over 100 international stores. Don’t you just love stories like this.

On reading the website ‘crisp colour, graphic prints and playful sophistication’ are the hallmarks of the designers work. Wandering around I wanted one of everything but my favourite was this multi strand necklace at a cool €216 (pictures below also). Our nearest store is the London one but you can be lucky on Amazon to find cool items. It is also stocked through shopstyle.co.uk which shows you items from a range of online shops all brought into this department store website.

Definitely worth a wander if you are close to Covent Garden (1-4 Langley Court).

Julie xx
